David
M. Amos, O.D., specializes in comprehensive family eye care,
including contact lenses and the diagnosis and treatment of eye
diseases. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from
Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. Following graduation
he served as a Captain in the Army Medical Service Corps.
Formerly an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology
at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Dr. Amos was on the
faculty for seven years before entering full-time private practice.
He has authored a number of articles published in the optometric
literature and has written a textbook chapter on ocular
pharmacology. He is a former chairman of the pathology section
of the American Academy of Optometry and former chairman of the
Education Committee of the Kansas Optometric Association.

Michael
E. Hettinger, M.D., is a board certified ophthalmologist who
specializes in refractive surgery, cataract and lens implant
surgery, and corneal disorders. His undergraduate degree is
from Rhodes College and his medical degree is from the University of
Tennessee in Memphis where he graduated with honors. Residency
training in ophthalmology was at the University of Alabama,
Birmingham. He completed surgical and research fellowships in
anterior segment surgery and corneal disorders at Harvard Medical
School. He is a diplomat of the American Board of
Ophthalmology and a fellow in the American College of Surgeons.
He is co-medical director of the Midwest Transplant Network Eye Bank
and on their Board of Directors. He is a member of the
American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, International
Society of Refractive Surgery, Castroviejo Corneal Society, and
American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Nationally,
Dr. Hettinger is actively involved with the Eye Bank Association of
America, serving as chairman-elect, and will serve as chairman of
the Board of Directors beginning June, 2002. He is a recipient
of the American Academy of Ophthalmology National Honor Award and is
listed in “The Best Doctors in America”.

Carl
V. Migliazzo, M.D.
Carl
V. Migliazzo, M.D., is a board certified ophthalmologist who
specializes in glaucoma, cataracts, and general ophthalmology.
He was a clinical assistant professor at the University of Missouri
and Kansas Medical Centers. His service, teaching and research have
earned him a National Honor Award and a National Senior Achievement
Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a
long-standing member of the American Glaucoma Society and Alpha
Omega Alpha, a medical honor society. He is the author of
several publications in scientific journals, and has been listed in “The
Best Doctors in America” since 1994.
A
cum laude graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia Medical
School, Dr. Migliazzo received his advanced ophthalmology training
in glaucoma fellowship at the University of California-San
Francisco.

Sara
S. O’Connell, M.D., is a board certified ophthalmologist who
specializes in glaucoma, cataracts, and general ophthalmology.
Dr. O’Connell is a clinical assistant professor at the University
of Kansas Medical Center. She received her medical degree from
the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She is a member of
Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society, and received the
American Women’s Association Award.
She completed an internal medicine internship at Saint Luke’s
Hospital, an ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas
Health Science Center and a glaucoma fellowship at the New England
Glaucoma Research Foundation in Boston.

Fred S.
Bodker, M.D., is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes
in oculoplastics, which includes eyelid, tear duct, orbital, and
cosmetic eye surgery, as well as refractive surgery and general
ophthalmology.
Dr.
Bodker is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Kansas
Medical Center. He received his undergraduate degree from the
University of Michigan, where he was a Phi Beta Kappa, and his
medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in
Baltimore. He completed an internal medicine internship at
Northwestern University, and an ophthalmology residency and an
ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the
University of Illinois at Chicago.

L. Nichols, O.D.

Stephen
L. Nichols, O.D., specializes in comprehensive family eye care,
contact lenses, low vision, and the treatment and management of
ocular disease.
Dr.
Nichols received his undergraduate degree from the University of
Kansas. He graduated from optometry school at the Illinois
College of Optometry in Chicago where he was awarded the Council on
Ethics Professionalism Award. He also completed a residency in
primary care and ocular disease. He was an assistant professor
at the Illinois College of Optometry and a clinical associate at the
University of Chicago Department of Ophthalmology and Visual
Sciences before entering full-time private practice.
