Job Description:

• Basic Work-up skills: Taking patient histories, Visual Acuity, Goldmann tonometry, pupil assessment, EOM, CVF, Slit Lamp Operation, Manual Lensometry, Keratometry, Refractometry
• Special testing: Humphrey VF, OCT, Topography, Wavefront, A-Scan, Cell Count
• Contact lenses – I&R Training, Medical Scleral Fittings/Evaluations
• Ability to apply basic skills and ophthalmic knowledge to general optometry, general ophthalmology and specialty ophthalmology clinics.
• Experienced assistants/technicians learn to assist with in-office procedures and scribing.

Comprehensive Eye Clinic seeks full time optician for the optical shop in our clinic. We need an individual with experience and references that document high level skills in fitting, dispensing and customer service. Comprehensive experience and or ABO Certification required.

Genuine opticianry skills are a must (styling individuals to their frames, matching needs to lens models and materials, measurements, Rx Troubleshooting, etc). Must have reflexes to automatically provide high effort customer service. Experience with customizing selection of frames, lens types and materials to individual clients critical. Familiarity with vision care plans (VSP, EyeMed) is essential.

• Duties: – Telephone switchboard: Answer and distribute calls, take accurate messages and route to the appropriate staff

• Clerical duties and other office duties: including — but not limited to — patient greeting and check-in, outgoing calls and internet searches for insurance authorizations, other clerical
• Maintain patient and clinic confidentiality through established procedures.

Skills – Previous experience in an ophthalmic or optometric environment is ideal; similar experience in medical office preferred;

True customer service attitude, quick-learning skills

Collaboration with co-workers and flexibility a must

Aptitude with personal computer, ability to learn and adapt to efficient use of clinic software a must
